The Role
This role offers an ambitious Finance professional the opportunity to join an exciting growing Irish food company. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be directly responsible for the core accounting and bookkeeping functions within Xero as well as ongoing projects and ad hoc requests. The responsibilities consist of A/P, Bank and A/R functions and preparation of month end reconciliations and reports.
The successful candidate will have experience of delivering within finance processes and will ideally have a passion for working for a healthy eating brand. Working in a fast-paced environment this role
will demand an ability to multitask and prioritise and requires strong organisational skills. In return the role offers an opportunity to be part of a well-established Finance function in a growing business which operates across multiple channels (Retail, Wholesale, Digital). This role works with a broad range of stakeholders including HR, Operations and external suppliers.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing
- invoices, expense claims, and payments
- Prepare weekly bank reconciliations, ensuring all bank transactions appropriately recorded
- Deliver the month-end close process, including completion of standard accounting entries and
- preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reporting packs and annual statutory accounts
- Assist in the delivery of weekly flash reporting
- Assist in the provision of finance support across our business divisions
- Working with Finance Director to continually improve the control framework within the business
- Liaison with external suppliers
- Assist with/lead special projects as they arise.
Essential Skills & Experience
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant
- AITA or similarly qualified candidates with 2+ years’ experience will also be considered
- Part-qualified accountants with relevant industry experience will also be considered
- Previous experience working in an accounting role
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and able to building strong relationships as the role involves
- liaising with both internal and external personnel at all levels
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Desirables
- Experience with Xero accounting software
- Experience in FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), manufacturing or retail sectors
