If you’re looking for a zingy refreshing indulgent dessert this key lime pie is for you. It’s has a beautifully smooth cheese cake like top filled with avocado and lime that contrasts with the nutty chocolatey base for a flavour explosion while you eat it. It’s from our blue book.


  • 300g mixed nuts
  • 100g pitted dates
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 4 ripe avocado
  • 170g coconut oil
  • 120g agave syrup
  • juice of 4 lime
  • zest of 2 lime
  • pinch of salt


  • Blitz the nuts in a food processor until they reach a breadcrumb-like texture
  • Add in the dates, cacao powder and coconut oil and blend together
  • Compact in a 9-inch lined spring form cake tin until nice and smooth
  • Rinse out the food processor and add the avocados, coconut oil, agave syrup, lime juice, lime zest and salt. Blend to a creamy consistency
  • Smooth this over the base and then leave to set in freezer for 5-10 minutes
  • Zest on some more lime and serve!
