Homemade Wholefood Vanilla Protein Powder

A simple, 100% whole food protein powder made from real seeds, nuts and cacao. This is so simple to make and great sprinkled over yoghurt, porridge or blended into a smoothie.

Takes 5 minutes

Serves 12

Ingredients

  • 170 g Raw pumpkin seeds pepitas
  • 50 g Whole raw almonds with skin intact
  • 40 g Chia seeds
  • 30 g Whole or ground flaxseeds linseeds
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • ½ tsp Fine sea salt
  • 2 tbsp Coconut sugar or date sugar optional, for gentle sweetness

Instructions

Grind the dry base:

  • Add the 50g whole almonds, 40g chia seeds, 170g pumpkin seeds, 30g flaxseeds, ½ tsp sea salt, and optional coconut sugar into a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend continuously for 10–15 seconds until finely ground into a flour-like consistency.
  • Add vanilla - cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise and using a small spoon scrap out the seeds into the powder and add the pod to the jar to infuse the aromas.

Store cold:

  • Transfer the powder into a clean, dry glass jar and seal tightly. Store in the refrigerator for up to 8 weeks.

To serve:

  • Add 3 level tablespoons (~30g) of powder to 250ml of cold soy milk or high-protein plant milk in a shaker bottle. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds and enjoy!
