Spring Detox Juice


A refreshing, nutrient-packed juice to help support your body’s natural detoxification this spring. With crisp apple, cooling cucumber, aromatic fennel, and foraged wild herbs like nettles and cleavers, this juice is full of minerals, antioxidants, and gentle detoxifying properties. Perfect for a morning boost or a midday refresh.

Takes 10 minutes

Serves 2

Ingredients
 

  • 2 crisp apples Granny Smith or Gala
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 1 small fennel bulb including fronds if you like
  • 1 cup fresh nettles use gloves to handle!
  • 1 cup fresh cleavers or other mild foraged herbs
  • Juice of ½ lemon optional
  • ½ cup filtered water optional, if you prefer a thinner juice

Instructions
 

Prepare the ingredients:

  • Wash all produce thoroughly.
  • Core the apples and cut into pieces.
  • Slice the cucumber and fennel into chunks that fit your juicer.
  • Lightly rinse the nettles and cleavers.

Juice:

  • Juice the fennel, cucumber, and apples first.
  • Add the nettles and cleavers last to preserve their delicate nutrients.
  • Stir in ½ cup filtered water if desired for a thinner consistency.

Brighten and serve:

  • Squeeze in the lemon juice and mix well.
  • Serve immediately over ice and garnish with a fennel frond or small sprig of cleavers.

Tips:

  • Always handle nettles with gloves and rinse well.
  • Cleavers are a gentle lymphatic tonic, great for spring detox.
  • For extra flavor, add mild wild herbs like dandelion leaves, chickweed, or wild mint.
